Potting Soil Recipe for Jasmine plants:

A good potting mix is a combination of organic (bark, peat moss, etc.) and mineral (soil, sand, perlite, vermiculite) materials in proportions adequate to supply sufficient nutrients for healthy plant growth, drain readily, and provide ample air for root respiration.

Soiled Based Mixture:

~ 1 Part Sterilized fibrous soil.
~ 1 Part Medium grade peat moss, ground tree bard, or leaf mold, sphagnum peat moss.
~ 1 Part coarse sand or fine perlite.

Add 1 part dehydrated cow manure, if available. Otherwise, add a balanced granular or powdered fertilizer (according to instruction).  Adding lime makes soil Alkaline. Adding sulphur makes soil Acidic. Use soil-based mixture and 'acidic' fertilizer for jasmine plants.

Peat Based Mixture

~ 1 Part medium-grade vermiculite.
~ 1 Part coarse sand or medium -  grade perlite.
~ Add limestone powder at 2 Tbs full to 2 Quarts of mixture and follow fertilizer instruction for soil based mixture.

Start with the soil. The right soil provides the right food and foundation for your plants. Choose and mix it to meet your plant's nutritional needs. Do not hesitate to mix the special soil your plant will need. Good soil will give plants a good head start for indoor living as Jasmine being a tropical plant it cannot take the winter weather so it should be sheltered indoors.
